NOTE FROM SAAVN

Thank you to everyone who participated in the contest. Voting is officially closed; votes may still tally online, but will not affect the outcome of the finals.

The passion and effort expressed by contestants was phenomenal; the talent that was showcased was even better. We are deeply grateful to all who participated, and we look forward to announcing our Grand Prize winner next week.

Because the field was so strong, and because the voting was so close, we expanded the number of finalists from 10 to 20, to provide more talented contestants with opportunity of winning the Grand Prize.

Throughout the contest, the home page of the site made clear that dates and rules could be subject to change. This wasn't intended to obscure anything; rather, it was intended to give us the flexibility to enhance the contest. For example, this allowed us to extend the contest - giving many contestants a chance to compete that they might otherwise have missed. Our goal was simply to provide a fair contest for as many people as possible, and to give all potential Bollystars a chance to showcase their art on the Internet stage.

Regarding multiple video entries - only one video per contestant was allowed to gain a spot in the finals.

We recognize that no contest is perfect; this is our first ever karaoke contest; we take all feedback seriously, and we will use it to improve future contests (hopefully, Bollystar 2010... coming soon). Constructive commentary is always welcome; please feel free to contact us directly at bollystar2009@saavn.com with any questions, concerns, comments, complaints, etc.

Again, thanks to everyone who posted a video, rated a video, commented, voted, shared their sentiments or just stopped by to enjoy some beautiful Bollywood music. You made Bollystar 2009 fantastic - and a pleasure to work on together.

Best Wishes,
The Saavn Team
